Good stuff. Other ones I hear thrown around are distributism and hightech/neo/cyber-pastoralism. But I like many am searching for a future which is free from the leftist grasp but also doesn't quite hew to the more radical chest-beating paleo-traditionalist RW'ers who want to style all of society in some idealized semblance of a brutal pre-classical world filled with barbarity and an over-developed sense of "might is right" beyond any empathic molds. Such steroided ideals are a big turn off for many of us, as they're typically propounded by TRT-overloaded BAPist types on twitter. Many of us want a third way, and are not interested in a society ruled by slave owning "warrior king" eugenicists and all that type of thing.
Yes, I agree completely. Worst of all, there’s no imagination or seriousness in those fantasies—they’re ridiculous, and have no chance of coming to pass, nor should they. The problem, it seems to me, is that we’re already essentially living in a barbaric, pre-civilizational fantasy—just of the leftist sort. A right-wing version is no solution at all.
We know that a moral, empathic, “right-wing” civilization can exist, because that was our own…once upon a time. It’s just a matter of rediscovering it. Fortunately, I think some people out there on the right are proposing interesting ideas for a third way, and I’m going to try to do my small part to shine a light on these proposals.
Anyway, thanks for the tip! I’ve never heard of distributism or cyber-pastoralism—I’ll have to check them out.
Agreed. However, strength building and taking responsibility for the hard work of maintaining one's health is a good fit for rights and us libertarians.
"Maybe if you autists and obsessives throw some interesting ideas about new political systems my way…well, I might just look into them too." I recommend checking out the writings of Max Borders. https://substack.com/@underthrow
These are great leads—thank you! It’s gratifying to see that there are so many people out there who are seriously inquiring into this important question.
This Thursday, Tom Bell will be talking about his ideas as applied to future space civilizations:
"Abstract: How will communities spread out across the vastness of space govern themselves? Absent faster-than-light communications, centralized control will not be practical. Decentralized governance offers an alternative."
I remember reading several articles like ten years ago discussing what comes next.... I rember the author discussing Corporate law as a foundation for a new Gov. I just dont have time to search for it.
Huh…now that’s interesting. I have no idea how corporate law could become the foundation for a new government—at least a government anyone would want to live under—but now I’m intrigued. If you can remember anything more about the author or where you read these articles, please let me know. I’d love to look into it.
Not the same thing, but you should check out law professor Tom W. Bell's work on open source non-state legal systems. His book, Your Next Government: http://www.tomwbell.com/yng.html
That was a whole lifetime ago. Im pretty sure it was a serious of posts on Western Rifle Shooters Association. I remember reading it and thinking that sounds doable... It was basically about how Corporations are made up of stock holders and that if the Country was the Corp then all the citizens would be stock holders and have a say based on how much stock they represented or something like that.

Thanks for the tip! These are fascinating ideas, and I’d like to give them a proper write-up in future articles.

Interesting…it sounds almost like a variant of corporatism. I’ll have to do some research and see if I can find out more.
